Issue 13: Branching, Spy, Biriyani, this and that
COVID: India is struggling. Here are some resource websites — India Covid Resources1, for bed and resources, a list of verified organizations2 and Cowin registration portal3 to register for vaccination.
DESIGN: Designing is becoming more tech-like. Approaches from frontend developments are now widely used on-screen designing too - from features like version control to variants, to newly announced branching4, and with products like Bojagi.io5 - designing is become ‘geeky,’ and Figma is becoming designers’ git.
SPY: Not sure how much truth there is in this story, but J.H. Bayis, a German cinematographer who did the photography of Udaya Studio’s Vellinakshathram (1949) is said to be a German spy6, trained at the studio of Joseph Goebbels7. [Watch Babu Ramachandran’s narration on Goebbels8, Malayalam]
LO-FI: If you like listening to long Lo-fi16 tracks on Youtube while working or as white noise17, here is a website18 that curates a few of such channels and provides a clean retro interface. The best part - it comes with a Pomodoro timer19. (PS: I still prefer listening to 90s Malayalam movies while doing mundane tasks, and uses Flow20 for Pomodoro)
